Cross-border initiative for developing playful topiary art for education and leisure (TopArt)

The „Cross-border initiative for developing playful topiary art for education and leisure (TopArt)” is a project within the framework of the Joint Operational Programme Romania - Ukraine – Republic of Moldova 2007-2013, programme financed by European Union.
 
Partner institutions within this project:
-Botanical Garden “Anastasie Fătu” of the University “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” of Iaşi, Romania;
- Botanical Garden (Institute) of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova.
 
The purpose of this project is to improve the cooperation between the two botanical gardens on both sides of Prut river in order to increase their capacity to provide cultural, educational and leisure services to the final beneficiaries: young people, children, elderly people, and to increase public awareness on cross-border cooperation between Romania and Moldova, through this programme, in order to find solutions to some common and/or similar problems.
Visitors will be able to spend their free time in an open space with a delightful view and geometrical, anthropomorphic and zoomorphic shapes, very suitable for organizing educational, cultural and leisure activities: shows, sporting events, television broadcasting etc.
 
The implementation period of the project is 18 months (14.04.2011 – 13.10.2012).
 
The total value of the project is 155000 euro, 90% of this amount are grants offered by the European Union.
